MSN sucks ass as an ISP. Just to let you know.
10 minutes to load a page that winds up not loading anyway. That's not funny. It's not. Havning to hit 'refresh' every seven minutes or so for almost an hour before a page loads is every bit not as funny.
So why do we have MSN?
'cause the first sixth months are free. We had Concentric before because it was also free. And then it DIED. Crashed completely. So my dad switched us to MSN, which is like Concentric, but more popular and more crowded and often much more worthless.
I told him, I'd pay for DSL. But then I couldn't get a job. Curses, foiled again.
My dad is cheap. Very much so. Understandably so, given the environment he grew up in. I admire his ability to save money and to budget, and he can be very generous when he feels the situation is worthy of it. But every now and then the unwillingness to spend any extra whatsoever gets a bit irritating.
For those who have seen my house and are confused; my mother handles most of the finances. Neither I nor my father understand her fondness for decorating. Nor her fondness for bunnies. I think she scares the both of us with the bunnies. *shudder*
I fear bunnies. And snowmen. OH GOD, our house around Christmastime is like Martha Stewart was decorating after someone slipped a hell of a lot of drugs into her eggnog. Any time my mother obtains a decorating/cooking magazine, Nicole and I have learned to make ourselves scarce. I think she's hoping Emma will turn out girly enough to share this passion of hers, but at the rate Nicole and I are corrupting her, I doubt it. Hehe.
