This is the first piece of art I ever attempted to scan with our very, very old scanner - it was not a flatbed scanner; you fed the paper through it. It was HORRIBLE quality. Keep in mind at this point my exposure to anime was next to nothing. I'd also not really drawn in years; this was a character in a Wheel of Time RP.
A-yup. This was possibly the first human I'd drawn in quite some time (I honestly am not sure. I have a small notebook of character sketches and a few loose drawings from that time period, but I'm pretty certain they came later. Also, this IS the first thing I scanned)
And now, colored (In MS Pain(t), as I had no other program, nor knowledge of any other program - I was THAT ignorant)
Note the primitive and horribly minute attempts at shading (dress and under her chin. She also had slight freckles). I cannot tell if I simply never finished shading it, or if I did so and lost the finished version. I know it's not done (see the outline of what would be a shaded portion near the top of her skirt). Hmmm.
And now you know my horrible, horrible artistic past. This means I have to kill you.
