I paid my bills before I came to Houston for Christmas. I know I paid all of them. Wrote the check, put it in the envelope, stamped them, stuck 'em in my mailbox, everything.
How can I be so sure?
THEY WERE STILL IN MY FUCKING MAILBOX.
What the hell? They were addressed properly, they had postage, they were sitting in my mailbox waiting to be sent out... THREE WEEKS AGO.
So I come home to a flood of angry bills wondering why I have not paid Time Warner, City Public Services, Southwestern Bell, etc and informing me that if I don't want service cut off, I'd better pay immediately.
I TRIED. I thought (oh, silly me) that y'know, putting them in my mailbox, as per normal routine, would ensure they'd be sent out. But no. Apparently the mailperson did not bother to look and see them there, and just put the angry bills on top of them.
SWBell says my account will be disconnected if they don't receive the payment in 10 days. Fine. Fair enough. I'll just take my mail to the post office and pray THEY notice it.
EDIT: SWB has an online bill payment option that I signed up for a month ago and that finally kicked into effect about a week or so ago. So I will use that. Okay. Slightly less enraged. Time Warner Cable is, however, still pissed at me. This also screws with my checkbook balance. Arrrrrrr.. *breaks something*
