Yesterday, this poll by the American Family Association showed that 94% of people polled opposed both homosexual marriage and civil unions. Mainly because the only people who were given the option of voting were on the AFA mailing list, or were people who regularly stopped by their website. They intend to show this poll to Congress, though you have to wonder if anyone will be dumb enough to take an internet poll seriously.

Then it got leaked onto LJ. Overnight, enough people voted to cause a notable 10% decline in the 'nay' votes. If you wait a couple minutes and then refresh the poll results page, the number of people voting for homosexual marriage goes up. It's fun to watch (or I'm just really easily amused).
Now, I doubt an internet poll is going to result in Congress deciding that gay marriage shouldn't be legal. But this is such a lovely, lovely chance to not even skew the numbers, but bring them up to reality by allowing a few thousand people who are FOR gay marriage to vote in addition to the thousands of people who are against it and were given the opportunity. Whatever your stance is, click, vote, share with a friend. It takes two seconds, there are no pop-ups. We now return you to your regularly scheduled Jenni, since if your friends list is anything like mine, you're rapidly getting sick and tired of hearing about this. :D

This "12 Days Of Christmas" meme is so silly. Thus far I've been squatting, wailing, gyrating (of all things), waving, listening, clucking, and many other things as well.

I am extremely cold, and will be making myself some tea shortly. Mmmm, tea. My main problem is that I can't quite feel my fingers... eep.
This looks all kinds of tasty, but I SO do not feel like buying groceries or cooking, and I shouldn't anyway when I know I'm not going to be here for more than a couple of days.

Mkay, cough is getting even MORE obnoxious. Joy. I got some fresh salsa last night, and kept coughing while standing near the open containers of salsa, olives, and what-have-you. I got the most evil looks from people, even though I turned entirely around and covered my mouth in hopes of not getting my germs all over the food.

Best things about being around here during the holiday? Minimal noise (Girl With Noisy Friends who lives to my right just moved out. Ahh, peace and quiet), and excellent parking. I can leave at any time of night and come back knowing I won't have to park practically in the next complex over, because almost everyone is gone. WOOO!
It's the little things that make me happy.
