Me: The same thing we do every night, Emma - TRY TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD! (They're Emma, they're Emma and the Jen, Jen, Jen, Jen, NARF!)
Emma: ... What?
Me: *sob* OH GOD, I'M OLD!
Me: Man, I can't wait 'til Emma reaches the age where she's embarrassed to be seen in public with us. I'll have so much fun.
Emma: That won't happen for two reasons. One, you guys will all have moved out. Two, I'm gonna turn out just like you.
Uggggghhhhh... school AND dealing with a ticket AND loss of car today. The ticket took a while, but the judge was just dismissing them left and right (including mine when I showed him the proof that my inspection sticker and taillight had been fixed hours after I got the ticket), so once he got started it went smoothly. The car, though... Our driveway goes over a ditch in two places (the front part is shaped like a 'u'), and on either side by the ditch there is a short brick... wall/ledge thing. Well, my read right tire bounced off that sucker when I turned into the driveway too sharply. This is not too uncommon, Mom managed to take the whole thing out a year or so ago. Knocked it right into the ditch. Scared the hell out of the tadpoles. This caused a suspicious-looking ridge-bubble in my tire, and when I took it in today it turns out it bent the axle. Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.
On the plus side, a frog bigger than my fist is living in our ditch. I saw him today. He was HUGE. It's nearly frog season, which makes me happy. Also, I had tasty vegetable dumplings for dinner. AND I found a tapioca tea place much, MUCH closer to where I live (the Teahouse I've been going to now and then is kind of really far away). This place is right on my way home from work. Dunno how their teas taste, though. I shall find out... someday.
