Well, when I asked Gabe what he wanted, he instructed me to just give him "the weirdest shit you can find".
I told him he should never, ever say that to someone familiar with the location of an Asian supermarket (and there are four or so within ten minutes of our house that I know of offhand).
So he got a bunch of stuff neither of us can really identify, as well as some kim-bab*, which I know to be delicious. It's there so he actually has something he can eat without fear. I also got some pocky (green tea mousse for me, strawberry for Emma). Everyone wins!
I discovered two problems last night with the LJ-karaoke idea.
One is staticky phones. I am sure the metal room I and my computer are in doesn't help matters.
The other was a scratchy throat. This was explained within about half an hour as my stomach went "Hey there, have some stomach acid! WHEEE!"
But still, not good. Dammit. :(
Also, new icon. Hee.
*Unsure of the spelling. It is a Korean sushi-type food with egg, veggies, and fish cake. Tish introduced me to it, and it is very tasty.
