Hokay. So. I've got this thesis, see, which is an ungodly lump of poetry about all manner of things (because it apparently causes me great physical pain to write about the same subject for two poems in a row). And I need folks who are willing to look over them and point out to me which bits are awful.
See, the last day of classes is May 6th. My advisor is going out of town on May 10th. I am supposed to graduate on May 14th. Ideally, I have this chunk of dead tree sufficiently revised and handed over to my advisor and second reader by May 1st, allowing them time to read it, decide whether or not it is sufficiently non-shit enough to be considered passing, and tell the administration of my university as much so that I might walk across a stage in a funny hat and get a piece of paper.
So, what will happen, ideally, is I email you a cluster of poems, you read them, and you email (or FB message, or IM, or messenger pigeon) me back within a week or so letting me know that hey, the last stanza of x makes no sense, and y appears to be missing a comma in line three, and the line breaks are super awkward in z. Almost all of my poems are free verse, so knowledge of obscure poetic forms is not necessary.
I am hesitant to post them because I will be trying to send some of them out to magazines, and a very annoying number of publications want no part of pieces already posted on the web.
